About this project
Hotel Verde is Africa’s first carbon neutral hotel. This 145 room hotel is a feat of modern engineering, harnessing geothermal, wind and solar energy to power its operations. The hotel is positioned on a rehabilitated wetland near Cape Town International Airport, and recently won Best City Hotel in the 2014 World Responsible Tourism Awards held in London.
Hotel Verde approached Gnu World looking for an integrated digital marketing solution to promote the newly built hotel.
What we did
Gnu World audited the Hotel Verde website and discovered a number of serious design and technical issues. This was followed by a complete redesign of the website for mobile responsiveness, and the formulation and execution of an integrated digital marketing campaign.
What we achieved
We delivered a brand new, cutting-edge website to Hotel Verde in September 2014, providing them with a custom Drupal site that works across a range of mobile displays and facilitates convenient on-site bookings.
Gnu World then initiated a digital marketing campaign integrating SEO marketing and Google AdWords. A year later Hotel Verde’s monthly traffic had been boosted by 116% year-on year, while organic search traffic had increased by 84%!
