Outside the Box
Gnu World conducted a thorough assessment of the Big Box website and identified a number of ways in which the site could be enhanced to better present the brand and its services, as well as generate conversions.
In May of 2015 Gnu World formally took over the marketing of the Big Box website. To start with the existing website was scrapped, and a simpler, more user-friendly WordPress theme website was put up in its place. Once the site was up we initiated search engine marketing activities, with an emphasis on content marketing and Google AdWords.
Twelve months later Big Box’s performance had been transformed, with traffic from all sources up 140%, while organic search traffic was up 88%. Campaign performance was further boosted when Gnu World introduced Facebook marketing in early 2016, creating social-oriented content showcasing the opportunities in container conversion that proved to be a massive hit with Facebook audiences.
By the end of 2016 Big Box’s annual traffic had increased 125.56% compared to 2015, with organic search traffic up 76.02% year on year, while traffic from social media had enjoyed astronomical growth, increasing by 5,532.63% and exposing hundreds of thousands of South Africans to Big Box’s innovative products and services.
